The Streets and Sanitation Department is responsible for the general upkeep and appearance of the City of Warrenton. The department provides essential services that keep public spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained.

In Warrenton, the duties of the Streets and Sanitation Department include:

• Performing mowing, trimming, and weed control along city streets, sidewalks, and public areas.
• Assisting with the upkeep of city facilities and grounds.
• Switching out garbage cans and providing support for contracted sanitation services.
• Helping ensure streets and rights-of-way remain safe and accessible.

Trash Services and Pickup Charges

City of Warrenton Sanitation Services
Regular Trash Service

• Provider: Waste Management
• Cost: $22.50 per month, per can - included in your water/sewer bill.
• Each household is provided a trash can by Waste Management.

Street Side Household Item Pick-Up
The City of Warrenton offers curbside pick-up for large household items. Due to the high cost of vehicles, equipment, fuel, tipping fees, and labor, a fee schedule is in place.
How It Works:

1. Residents must prepay at City Hall and receive a receipt before placing items on the curb.
2. Items placed without a receipt are a violation of the Clean Community policy and may result in fines.
3. Fees only apply to the items listed on your receipt.
