In Warrenton, the duties of the Fire Department are defined to include:
  • Inspecting potential fire hazards and abating existing risks.
  • Investigating the cause, origin, and circumstances of fires.
  • Regulating the safe use of explosives, flammables, fire escapes, alarms, and extinguishing equipment.
  • Ensuring adequate and safe exits in schools, factories, churches, hospitals, theaters, and other places of public assembly.
  • Conducting educational fire prevention programs to raise community awareness.
  • Enforcing ordinances relating to burning, fireworks, and the maintenance of fire safety in public and private spaces.
  • Responding to emergencies and managing fireground safety, traffic, and evacuation procedures.
